Happy Birthday { s } Cheyenne, Wyoming Birth Photographer

This family is also one of my Watch Me Grow families.  This is their birth.  Mama wanted an unassisted home water birth.  This is her 10th child and she's already had several at home.  Things started very slow.  I was warned that mama goes fast, so when I got that preliminary phone call on July 3rd at 6 pm, I was on pins and needles.  Nothing moving along just yet, just a few intense contractions.  I didn't sleep a wink that whole night.  At 5:00 am I finally got that call.  I headed out to her house.  After almost 12 hours of labor and no real movement, mama decided to follow her heart and head into the hospital.  When we all arrived, mama was complete with a small rim and baby's head wasn't molding.  Baby didn't make her appearance for another seven hours and that was with pitocin.  This was an 18 hour labor for me and even longer for mama. Baby was born on the 4th of July and her name means "freedom."  Kinda special if you ask me.

This is a birth I did back in August.  I am behind, I know. ;)  This is another family that I've been able to work with over the last several years and I absolutely love them!  Their two oldest daughters attend the same dance studio that mine do and our recital was the same day as this.  The mama was in labor the entire time at the recital, as soon as it was over she gave me a call and said that she was heading in.  

When I arrived she was in such good spirits and as beautiful as ever.  Within a few hours baby was here and daddy was so smitten!

This is a family that I've had the honor of following very closely the last year.  Daddy deployed shortly after mama found out she was expecting number two.  You can see more of their early sessions here.

I met this family two years ago for their maternity session and that was followed by their daughter's newborn session.  I've been able to watch { b } grow while I did her first birthday cake smash and a family session.  It bring me incredible joy to be trusted to bring families their memories year after year. 

I actually missed this birth.  An hour and a half after mama's first contraction { k } made her appearance, just minutes after getting to the hospital and on her due date.  I arrived about 10 minutes after she was born and was able to capture all her firsts.  Daddy was still deployed and should be arriving home shortly.  Stay tuned for that Operation Love Reunited session... ;)
